Vishal TK’s journey toward the Asian Games 2026 is a story of determination, discipline and a major transformation in Indian athletics. The 400m runner has emerged as India’s national record holder after making a remarkable improvement under Jamaican coach Jason Dawson. When Vishal first began training with Dawson, the coach felt that the tall sprinter needed to build his physical strength and make significant changes to his diet. The demanding training programme soon began producing results.

After a disappointing seventh-place finish at the Indian Open, Vishal responded strongly by winning the Federation Cup and later breaking the national 400m record. He then became the first Indian to run the distance in under 45 seconds, clocking 44.98 seconds at the Federation Cup in Ranchi. Dawson also worked on Vishal’s running technique, particularly his body position, arm movement and overall efficiency across the 400m.

With the Asian Games 2026 approaching, Vishal is looking to finish the season on a high. His partnership with Dawson has not only improved his performances but also strengthened his belief that difficult goals can be achieved through consistent hard work.
